Sarah was bright, but in her first job, she was overwhelmed by the open desk environment and the social demands of the workplace. She struggled with deadlines, made simple mistakes, and struggled with intense emotional reactions to minor feedback. She felt “all over the place,” and her self-esteem was plummeting.
An evaluation at the Sachs Center diagnosed Emily with AuDHD. The diagnosis was life-changing, helping her reframe years of self-blame. She began therapy to manage emotional dysregulation and developed executive functioning skills for her new career. She now has work-from-home accommodations and is now building her confidence and showing her true capabilities at work.

Everything you need to know about testing
At the Sachs Center, our psychologists are experts in working with high-masking adults, especially women and BIPOC adults who may mask to a greater extent than men or non-target groups. We also only work with neurodivergent populations so we have become expert in
At the Sachs Center, we offer two testing options. The 2-hour Diagnostic Testing which focuses specifically on a diagnosis of ADHD and/or Autism and screens for anxiety and depression, and provides same-day results with a diagnosis letter for medication referral or workplace accommodations. You can add a report to this for $400. The 5 page report adds more in depth information about yourself and can be used for accommodations in a university or to seek disability.
The second type of testing is our 8-hour neuropsychological evaluation. This is more comprehensive, includes cognitive testing (IQ), academic testing, memory, and emotional assessments. It’s typically ONLY required for standardized test accommodations (SAT, LSAT, MCAT) or university support.
Other doctors are still doing full neuropsychological evaluations to determine a diagnosis of Autism or ADHD. They are doing testing that is not needed for diagnostic testing in adults, like an IQ test, memory testing, or testing to determine your academic levels. These tests are only needed for children and those seeking accommodations in standardized tests like the SAT, GRE, LSAT etc. In many way, we consider this overcharging unfair and egregious business practices.

At the Sachs Center, the assessment includes four main steps: (1) A 30-minute clinical interview with your psychologist discussing your current challenges, childhood experiences, work history, and family dynamics; (2) Review of symptoms to assess if you meet diagnostic criteria; (3) Evidence-based self-report questionnaires assessing symptoms (4) Discussion of findings and diagnosis with your Sachs Center clinician, along with personalized treatment recommendations.

This additional perspective can help paint a more complete picture of your symptoms and challenges, especially since adults with Autims or ADHD often learn to mask their symptoms over time. Our psychologists will guide you on whether this would be beneficial for your specific situation.
