Holistic ADD ADHD Testing & Treatment

The Sachs Center specializes in the testing and treatment of ADD, ADHD & ASD in children, teens and adults.

Due to Coronavirus, we now offer initial evaluations via Google Meet.

Our Approach.

We go beyond labels, taking a holistic, person-centered approach to treatment.  We don’t see you or your loved one as a diagnosis or set of symptoms, but rather as an individual with unique strengths and weaknesses.

We know from experience that one magic pill does not cure ADD, ADHD or other mental health challenges. That is why we offer a behavioral approach that is tailored to the individual and focused on the whole person.

ADHD Doctor in NYC

Dr. Sachs is one of those highly reputable clinicians who is the “full package” when it comes to helping students and their families. — Tracey Spencer Walsh, Partner (Mayerson & Associates)

Education.

The first step in change is education.  The Sachs Center offers informative online courses, helpful books, and videos to support children, teens and adults on their journey.

Evidence-Based.

We provide evidence-based testing and treatment of ADD, ADHD and ASD. Our full-service boutique psychotherapy practice on Manhattan’s Upper West Side offers well researched, proven methods in our comfortable and confidential office setting.

Neurodiversity.

We believe that ADD, ADHD, and ASD are not deficits but simply differences.  Neurological differences are to be recognized and respected as any other human variation.  With this respect and positivity, growth can occur. To this end, we have created Neurotribes: small in-office and online groups where children, teens, and adults can bond with peers with the same neurological difference.

Experienced Specialists.

Our doctors are specialists in ADD, ADHD, ASD, Aspergers in children, teens and adults. We only focus on these core issues so you can expect psychologists that are knowledgeable and experienced.

Change will not be easy, but if all facets of one’s life are holistically supported, improvement can and does happen. Call our adult, adolescent and child psychologists today for an initial evaluation.  Book an appointment here or call 646-603-0491.

Sachs Psychological Services

Getting Started

ADD Testing NYC

The first step in working for change is our initial evaluation.  We will meet with you to learn more about you or your loved one’s struggles, challenges and goals. We know that it is not easy to seek help and we understand that you might be anxious in sharing such personal information with someone you don’t know.  During the initial evaluation, we will listen with care, learn more about you and together formulate a plan that best meets your needs.  We are interested in your questions and will work collaboratively to allay your concerns.  At the conclusion of the evaluation, we will discuss our findings and the recommended options for treatment. See our full list of services.

ADD, ADHD Testing

We offer a comprehensive ADD, ADHD testing process that goes beyond a simple checklist. We use the latest diagnostic tools to accurately assess for ADD, ADHD. This process begins with a clinical interview, where we learn about early childhood symptoms and current challenges that are negatively impacting your life. After the interview, you will be given a computer-based assessment to determine deficits in focus, distractibility and impulsivity, all hallmarks of ADD & ADHD.  Learn more about our adult and child ADD, ADHD testing.

Neuropsychological Testing

Neuropsychological or psychoeducational testing is not needed for a diagnosis of ADD, ADHD. It is necessary, however, to receive accommodations in school or extra time on standardized tests. We have been successful in getting extra time accommodations for our clients on the SAT, GRE, GMAT, MCAT, etc.  Learn more about our neuropsychological testing.

Therapy & Coaching

We offer individual, group and family therapy to those adults with ADD ADHD, anxiety, depression and relationship issues. Dr. Sachs has developed a unique method for ADD, ADHD treatment in adults called the “Sachs Protocol,” utilizing psychoeducation and psychotherapy to manage symptoms of ADD/ADHD.  Our child psychologists use play therapy and the group model (Dragon Masters) to assist children with their unique emotional needs. Learn more about our therapy and coaching.

Brainmapping & Neurofeedback

We are only one of a few centers offering brain-mapping in New York City. Brain-mapping is a safe diagnostic tool that allows our Neurotherapist to see underactive and overactive parts of the brain. Once you or your loved one’s brain is “mapped,” Neurofeedback can begin. Neurofeedback is a very exciting alternative treatment for ADD, ADHD, depression, anxiety and Aspergers.   Learn more about our Neurofeedback training.

Social Skills Groups

Our Social Skills Groups are run by child psychologists to help children and adolescents who are having difficulty with peer relationships, anxiety, depression and ADHD. Children and adolescents will gain greater acceptance, make friends, strengthen their communication skills, behave more appropriately, reduce anxiety, increase their frustration tolerance, and develop more confidence so they succeed socially.  Learn more about our Social Skills Groups.
