Neurodiversity is Our Focus

The Sachs Center specializes in Autism and ADHD testing and treatment for children, teens, and adults. Our psychologists are experts in diagnosing neurodiversity.

Neurodivergence Only

We've limited our practice exclusively to ADHD, Autism, and AuDHD. This laser focus means we've evaluated hundreds of clients with these specific conditions — you're never an afterthought.

Expert Diagnosis

58% of our adult clients were previously misdiagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, or Depression — or told 'nothing's wrong.' Our psychologists specialize in identifying high-masking individuals.

Person-Centered Approach

We take a holistic approach focused on mind, body, and environment. No cookie-cutter answers, no rushing to medication. Every neurodivergent person is unique and deserves an experienced, caring eye.

Celebrate Neurodiversity

While we recognize the challenges of ADHD and Autism, we celebrate neurodiversity as a valuable strength that enriches both individuals and society.

We avoid unnecessary testing (like IQ tests) that research shows is unrelated to ADHD or Autism Level 1. This allows us to keep our fees reasonable — $790 vs. the industry average of $3,500.

Diagnostic Testing

"Expensive neuropsychological batteries are not necessary to diagnose autism. A diagnosis should identify support needs through clinical observation, not expensive testing."

Why Our Approach Works

The DSM-5 — the manual every clinician uses — does not require a full neuropsychological battery for an ADHD or Autism diagnosis. It requires a clinician to verify specific behavioral criteria. Lower fees aren't a red flag — unnecessary testing is.

Leading Researchers & Organizations Agree

"Neuropsychological testing is not necessary for the diagnosis of ADHD and should not be routinely recommended."

Dr. Russell Barkley

The ADHD Report, 2019

"There is no single test to diagnose ADHD. Diagnosis involves gathering information from multiple sources, including clinical interviews."

National Institute of Mental Health

NIMH Official Guidelines

"A clinical evaluation integrating behavioral observation and developmental history is the cornerstone of autism diagnosis."

American Psychological Association

APA Guidelines for ASD Diagnosis

"A comprehensive clinical evaluation — not neuropsychological testing — is the accepted standard for diagnosing ADHD."

CHADD

Official Diagnostic Guidelines

"The primary care clinician should initiate an evaluation for ADHD based on DSM criteria through clinical assessment, not extensive testing."

American Academy of Pediatrics

Pediatrics Journal

"If you've met one person with autism, you've met one person with autism. Diagnosis should be individualized, not battery-driven."

Dr. Stephen Shore

Autism Advocacy & Education

"It is the clinician's expertise — not the volume of tests administered — that determines diagnostic accuracy."
