What is the adult AQ-10?
The Autism Spectrum Quotient–10 is a brief adult self-report of autistic traits. Its ten statements touch on social understanding, attention switching, detail, and related experiences. It is a screening aid, not an autism diagnosis.
How to complete the AQ-10
Choose Definitely Agree, Slightly Agree, Slightly Disagree, or Definitely Disagree for each statement, based on your own experience. The quiz takes about 2 minutes. There is no fixed recall period specified here. Complete all ten items to see your concise score and explanation without providing an email.
How AQ-10 scores are interpreted
Direction-keyed responses produce a total from 0 to 10. NICE uses a score of 6 or more as one reason to consider a comprehensive autism assessment—not as a diagnosis or severity rating. A lower score does not rule out autism, especially when history or clinical concerns suggest assessment. Evidence for the AQ-10 does not automatically validate this online presentation.
