Volunteer listening, peer groups and automated tools can offer support or reflection, but they are different from an assessment or treatment relationship with a licensed professional.
Free support, clinical care and privacy
Volunteer listening, peer groups and automated tools can offer support or reflection, but they are different from an assessment or treatment relationship with a licensed professional. Free or subsidized clinical care may be available through public programs, schools, community clinics or an employer benefit; eligibility and availability vary.
HIPAA protection depends on the organization, its role and the particular service or arrangement. A privacy claim in an app’s advertising is not enough. Read its data-use and retention policies, check who receives your information and ask a healthcare provider about any business associate arrangements that apply. Do not assume a consumer app has the same protections as your clinical record.
ADHD assessment considers symptoms, developmental history, functioning in more than one setting and other possible explanations. Appropriately qualified clinicians can diagnose within their professional scope; a full cognitive or neuropsychological battery is not required for every ADHD diagnosis. Broader testing may be useful when learning, memory or other complex questions need investigation.
How to look for affordable help
Check public benefits, community mental health clinics, school or university services and any employer assistance program. Ask what the program covers, whether there is a waiting list and what happens when funded sessions end. Reduced-fee care is different from free care.
Find out who will receive your information before sharing it. A volunteer listening service, a peer forum and a licensed treatment relationship have different responsibilities. If your concerns persist or affect functioning, seek clinical advice rather than assuming an app or a diagnostic evaluation is the only available next step.

Focused testing and the separate $5,995 full neuropsychological evaluation answer different questions. Learning-disability, academic achievement and broader cognitive testing belong to the separately booked full service. Sachs Center is out of network and does not accept insurance directly. A superbill can be requested, but reimbursement depends on the plan. Confirm clinician authorization for the state where you will attend and any documentation requirements before paying.
